Moral Decline

Documenting The Moral Decline That Threatens To Destroy America

15 Things That Are Wrong With America

#1) America is completely addicted to pornography:

Did you realize that....

89% of porn is created in the United States?

$2.84 billion in revenue was generated from U.S. porn sites in 2006?

260 new porn sites go online daily?

Porn revenue is larger than all the combined revenues of all professional football, baseball and basketball franchises?

25% of total search engine requests are porn related?

More than 70% of men from 18 to 34 visit a pornographic site in a typical month?

#2) America has killed over 40 million babies through abortion:

Since 1973, well over 40 MILLION innocent babies have been chopped up and slaughtered in American abortion mills.

America has dissected them, burned them alive, sucked their brains out and yet the American people seem to care less about this than ever.

How far down the toilet has America gone as a society when America kills about a million babies a year, and nobody even gets upset about it anymore?

#3) America is now tolerating gay marriage:

There is a lot of truth to this famous phrase: "As California goes, so goes the nation".

Now that California has legalized gay marriage, it is only a matter of time before most of the rest of the states do the same.

From now on, it will be those who speak out for morality that will be persecuted in America:

-A Methodist retreat center recently refused to allow two lesbian couples to use a campground pavilion for a civil union ceremony. The state of New Jersey punished the Methodists by revoking the center's tax-exempt status—a vindictive attack on the Methodists' religious liberty.

-In Massachusetts, where judges imposed gay marriage a few years ago, Catholic Charities was ordered to accept homosexual couples as candidates for adoption. Rather than comply with an order that would be harmful to children, Catholic Charities closed down its adoption program.

-California public schools have been told they must become "gay friendly". That includes a curriculum that teaches children that homosexuality is a valid lifestyle.

-Even speaking out against homosexuality can get you fired. Crystal Dixon, an associate vice president at the University of Toledo, was fired after writing an opinion piece in the Toledo Free Press in support of traditional marriage.....fired for exercising her First Amendment rights!

#4)America has totally accepted the theory of Darwinian "Evolution" even though the actual science clearly shows that there was a Creator:

#5)America brutally tortures the prisoners it takes:

The torture techniques that "good" America uses include hooding, stripping detainees naked, subjecting them to extreme heat, cold, noise and light, and depriving them of sleep. This torture by American authorities often expands into more vicious forms such as vicious beatings, sexual degradation, sodomy, near drowning, and near asphyxiation:

#6)America is using immoral depleted uranium weapons:

Did you know that America is using nuclear waste to fight these wars?

This is what happens to babies whose mothers are exposed to depleted uranium.....

If you don't know about the horrors of depleted uranium, you need to find out the truth.....

#7)America's national debt is almost 10 TRILLION dollars:

Once upon a time, the United States was the biggest creditor in the world. But those days are long gone. Now America is the biggest debtor nation to ever exist on the earth.

America was once the richest nation in the world, but that was not nearly enough for them. Americans always had to have a bigger car, a bigger house and an endless supply of "stuff". So the government piled up debt, America's companies gorged on debt, and Americans made using credit cards into a national pastime.

Spending our own money wasn't even enough. We spent the money of our children, and of our grandchildren, and of their children, and now the national debt is approaching 10 TRILLION amount that we will never be able to repay. And if you include the future liabilities that our government has committed us to such as future Social Security and Medicare payments, then the total is over 59 TRILLION dollars.

Now that many of our jobs have gone overseas, the price of gasoline is shooting through the roof, and people are losing their homes, do we find that Americans are learning their lesson?

Instead we are squeezing everything we can out of our plastic. Total credit card debt in America has reached almost a trillion dollars, and it is increasing at a rate which is four times faster than earlier this decade.

Instead of showing restraint, we have jammed the accelerator to the floor.

Prices are increasing dramatically while wages are remaining flat or even decreasing. Jobs are being outsourced and factories are being closed at a staggering pace. Our largest banks and financial institutions are teetering on the brink of failure. Homes are being foreclosed at record rates. Personal bankruptcies recently hit an all-time high. And so what is the answer the politicians give us? Wasting even more money and getting us into even more debt.

#8)Child abuse, especially child sexual abuse, has become a national epidemic in America:

-It is estimated that there are over 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today.

-Approximately 95% of all teenage prostitutes have been sexually abused.

-Of all American prisoners convicted of rape or sexual assault, two-thirds victimized children.

-Reported cases of child sexual abuse increased 322 percent from 1980 to 1990.

#9)Divorce is at record levels, and it is as common in the church as it is in the broader society:

-The percentage of the population that is divorced: 10% (up from 8% in 1990, and 6% in 1980).

Only 63% of American children grow up with both biological parents -- the lowest figure in the Western world.

The percentage of married people who reach their 50th anniversaries in America: 5%

#10)The greed of America is absolutely stunning:

1 billion people in the world go to bed hungry every night.

Every 3.6 seconds someone starves to death and 3/4 are children under the age of 5.

More than 2.8 billion people, close to half the world's population, live on less than the equivalent of $2 a day.

More than 1.2 billion people, or about 20 per cent of the world population, live on less than the equivalent of $1 a day.

More than 1 billion people do not have access to safe water.

About one-third of all children under the age of five suffer from malnutrition.

The top fifth (20 per cent) of the world's people who live in the highest income countries have access to 86 per cent of world gross domestic product. The bottom fifth, in the poorest countries, has about one per cent.

The assets of the world's three richest men exceed the combined gross domestic products of the world's 48 poorest countries.

#11)Adultery and fornication are practically the national sports of America, and that has resulted in an explosion of STDs:

1 Out Of Every 4 Teen Girls Have An STD & More Than 25 Percent Of The Residents Of New York City Have Herpes.....

#12)Murder is so common in the United States that it is a joke to the rest of the world:

The murder rate in the United States is among the highest of all developed countries, with rates in larger cities sometimes over 40 per 100,000 residents.

#13)False religions are exploding in America at a rate that is mind blowing:

Oprah Winfrey & Her New Age Religion Are Trying To "Redefine" And Destroy Traditional Christianity.....

#14)America is destroying the environment of the world:

America's Wickedness Has Turned The Pacific Ocean Into The World's Largest Garbage Dump.....

#15)Meanwhile, the church in America is a complete mess and they don't even understand the basics of the Christian faith anymore:

Stunning New Survey Reveals That 57 Percent Of "Evangelical" Christians In America Believe That "Many Religions Can Lead To Eternal Life".....

Without a doubt we live in a world that is incredibly wicked, but there is one source of hope in all of this:

Why is this question posed as though the very thought were totally ludicrous, when it is in fact exactly what you believe?

"Do you have enough blind faith to believe that life just popped into existence from nonlife, and that such life just happened to have the ability to take in the nourishment it needed, to expel waste, and to reproduce itself, all the while having everything it needed to survive in the environment in which it suddenly found itself?"

Abe said...

In fact, let me further challenge you to satisfactorily explain why your beliefs are singularly true in a way that cannot be used to do the same for any others.

America is not falling into the gutter, she was always there along with every other nation state.

Shall we start with the virtual extinction of the continent's native peoples? With the slave quarters and racketeering? Hell come on America was built upon land grabbing and slavery, and a country which even after the Civil War remained a byword for racial segregation and discrimination right on into the 1960s.

There never has been a chance for America to slide into a cesspool of evilness and wickedness, as it never had the moral elevation in which to slide down from.

IF there was then how come Martin Luther King was so necessary, so revolutionary?

Posted this on another website:

As a well traveled person who currently lives in the United States, I will respond to all 15 points in this article, hopefully to shed some light on what it is truly like to live in the US.(It is clear from reading just the first five points that this article has a conservative leaning bias, something that is TRULY leaving America behind)

#1) America is completely addicted to pornography:

America is a participant in the free market (or what we'd like to believe is a free market) and people have found that pornography makes money. They have the freedom to pursue that business here in the United States. I see no reason that Pornography should be labeled immoral, it has been around since Humans became sentient, some people just repress it in the hope of being morally superior

#2) America has killed over 40 million babies through abortion:

I've killed over 40 million babies through watching Pornography, my girlfriend has killed 96 babies since she started menstruating.

#3) America is now tolerating gay marriage:
This is a problem, why? 40 years ago the argument would've been "black rights" rather than "gay marriage"

#4)America has totally accepted the theory of Darwinian "Evolution" even though the actual science clearly shows that there was a Creator:

#5)America brutally tortures the prisoners it takes:

This is true, and it is against the Geneva conventions and the very promises Americans made less than a century ago.

#6)America is using immoral depleted uranium weapons:
The chemical toxicity of depleted uranium is about a million times greater in vivo than its radiological hazard.[49] Health effects of DU are determined by factors such as the extent of exposure and whether it was internal or external. Three main pathways exist by which internalization of uranium may occur: inhalation, ingestion, and embedded fragments or shrapnel contamination. Properties such as phase (e.g. particulate or gaseous), oxidation state (e.g. metallic or ceramic), and the solubility of uranium and its compounds influence their absorption, distribution, translocation, elimination and the resulting toxicity. For example, metallic uranium is relatively non-toxic compared to hexavalent uranium(VI) uranyl compounds such as uranium trioxide.[50][51]
Uranium is pyrophoric when finely divided.[20] It will corrode under the influence of air and water producing insoluble uranium(IV) and soluble uranium (VI) salts. Soluble uranium salts are toxic. Uranium slowly accumulates in several organs, such as the liver, spleen, and kidneys. The World Health Organization has established a daily "tolerated intake" of soluble uranium salts for the general public of 0.5 µg/kg body weight, or 35 µg for a 70 kg adult.
While epidemiological studies on laboratory animals point to it as being an immunotoxin,[52] teratogen,[53][54] neurotoxic,[55] with carcinogenic and leukemogenic potential,[56] there has been no definite link between possible health effects in laboratory animals and humans. A 2005 report by epidemiologists concluded: "the human epidemiological evidence is consistent with increased risk of birth defects in offspring of persons exposed to DU."[57]
Early studies of depleted uranium aerosol exposure assumed that uranium combustion product particles would quickly settle out of the air[58] and thus could not affect populations more than a few kilometers from target areas,[59] and that such particles, if inhaled, would remain undissolved in the lung for a great length of time and thus could be detected in urine.[60] Burning uranium droplets violently produce a gaseous vapor comprising about half of the uranium in their original mass.[61] Uranyl ion contamination in uranium oxides has been detected in the residue of DU munitions fires.[62][63]
They should not be used, but are not nearly as deadly as the article suggests.

#7)America's national debt is almost 10 TRILLION dollars:
the national debt is actually 400 billion dollars away from 10 trillion, but that is still an incredibly large amount. You can thank George W. Bush and the rest of the politicians running on conservative values to gain votes only to spend as though they were trying to give universal health care to the world.
#8)Child abuse, especially child sexual abuse, has become a national epidemic in America:
This exists in most countries, some countries even have "sex tourism" where underage girls are sold to men for sexual deeds.
The facts presented in this blog, however - show quite the opposite of the point it was trying to make
-It is estimated that there are over 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today.
-Approximately 95% of all teenage prostitutes have been sexually abused.
-Of all American prisoners convicted of rape or sexual assault, two-thirds victimized children.
-Reported cases of child sexual abuse increased 322 percent from 1980 to 1990."
All of this data confirms widely known data, and the third fact shows that as sexual abuse is coming to the spotlight, more survivors feel safe talking about it.
#9)Divorce is at record levels, and it is as common in the church as it is in the broader society:
You are free to make choices, divorce is one of them. Now, more than ever, people are free to pursue their dreams (thanks to globalization) and some believe that having a family can be detrimental to this. I actually applaud the people who get divorced in this nation (and i deplore the people who marry on a whimsical ill-informed basis)
That is the foundation of this country, freedom of choice.
#10)The greed of America is absolutely stunning:
This is true, you can see it in our fat asses, but the facts on that blog have little to do with the united states, and more to do with the failures of third world governments.

#11)Adultery and fornication are practically the national sports of America, and that has resulted in an explosion of STDs:

the cited article:

"At least one in four teenage girls nationwide has a sexually transmitted disease, or more than 3 million teens, according to the first study of its kind in this age group."

This is an area of research with very little actual research done.

I, however, see nothing wrong with sexual promiscuity. The problem lies with sex-ed and the lack of proper STD prevention techniques. Opposite to what this blogger assumes, the problem is with teaching abstinence in schools, rather than sexual protection.

#12)Murder is so common in the United States that it is a joke to the rest of the world:

no source cited, here's a source:

US ranks 24th globally, with 0.042802 murders per 1,000 people

#13)False religions are exploding in America at a rate that is mind blowing:

This one needs no explaining. All religions are false, they cannot be proven.

#14)America is destroying the environment of the world:

This is true, and it needs to stop.

#15)Meanwhile, the church in America is a complete mess and they don't even understand the basics of the Christian faith anymore:

This is true, however that is the way the world works. People don't like Christianity? People don't practice it. End of story.

Freedom of Religion, it's beautiful!

Typically I don't much care for "mass messages" sent out to facebook group members simply because it's usually a spam or promotional-type effort.

BUT, here are my thoughts:

FANTASTIC article, I agree with all points above. THANK YOU for posting.

Thank you, Ian! I was about to do the exact same thing as you (in debunking his crap arguments one by one) and then I came to your comment.

I'd say you can easily add the school system and method of teaching children into your list. The school system has pretty much guaranteed the destruction of an individual mind and the creation of a person with individual ideas and opinions. Television and school have mastered the art of distraction so no child is able to even touch their potential in life.

the 16th problem with America is that there are ignorant (not meant as an insult, but as a fact) people who refuse to believe in evolution (the questions asked in an attempt to refute evolution are hysterical), people ("christians" who preach "love" and don't want gay prople to marry), what are you afraid of? people who supported Bush and his torture policies and Bush went to church as did Cheney...what "good" christians....makes me sick.

Here's some which are not covered-1) Food&drug adminstration dictating America - they are all about money and absolutely no care to people. Instead of advertising for pills, why can't they advertise about eating right, excercising right, follow good virtues and morals?
2) Popularity given priority - why should news readers be given 'celebrity' status? Its all hype and facts are lost
Media industry is so screwed up!!
3)College education is so expensive that people can't afford at all. What is the need for it to be so expensive?
4)Sex is an expression of love, not just physical pleasure. People should be educated right from school - people cheat because of want of 'exciting' sex, hence divorces and hence poverty.
Fix the above, and you have a wonderful America!

The person who wrote this is such a conservative idiot...stop pushing your moral laws against us because you are wrong...the bible says nothing against gay marriage, evolution is 100% true, would you rather have unhappy couples in america because "God" says its wrong...I cannot believe people like you. THe world does not laugh at us because we have a corrupt nation...they laugh at us because the morals set for those biases are made by:White,Conservative,Christian people who think they know everything...and I bat you don't except this comment on your site because people like you believe in censorship...but get ready for some major changes *ssh*le

Thank you Dominic! I was just about to write the same thing. I'm from Denmark and that is so true. We laugh at the conservative white christians of America who refuse to believe in science and logic.

And the person who wrote this is so stupid. The main reason for the murder rate in the US is your love for guns. And since your are a conservative old ass I suppose you voted for Bush who says it is wrong to destroy recently seeded eggs but completely fair to hand a lethal weapon to a potentially dangerous individual. You have this ammendment that is a leftover from a time when it was necessary to own a weapon and you keep claiming that it is still your right to own a dangerous weapon? it's insane!

Hilarious. I love reading naive christian comments. Don't get me wrong, I believe my spirit exists; how else can my mind exist? How do I Feel? How do I know the difference between doing what's right and wrong? Among many other questions and observations.

That being said, I'm also NOT an idiot. God did NOT snap his fingers and create life. Although, he may have given me a soul, I do believe in evolution. Everything evolves. Through some act of random luck the right proteins and elements did align and create some kind of single celled organism. From there it's been survival of the fittest. Giraffes with long necks had a better chance at surviving and reproducing because they could reach the leaves that other animals couldn't. Animals that hunt have evolved with tools for hunting, claws, teeth, camouflage, eyes that allow focusing on prey. Prey have evolved with an ability to survive, endurance, eyes on the sides of their heads provide a wider range of view (in some cases can see nearly 360 degrees around them), camouflage in both groups or blending in. In birds, the male is usually a brighter and more obvious prey. The females are usually less obvious. A single male can repopulate an entire region as long as females are abundant in just 1 season. If you don't believe in evolution, explain my appendix, what did my appendix do 1500 years ago? Explain why all mammals share so many similarities? Milk, hair, child-bearing, teeth organs, the list goes on. If you don't believe in evolution, you're not being rational, and the argument is over.
