Was Barack Obama a pot smoker when he was in high school? According to a new biography about Obama, he was much more than that.
A new book by David Maraniss entitled "Barack Obama: The Story" makes some startling claims about Obama.
#1 A self-selected group of boys at Punahou School who loved basketball and good times called themselves the Choom Gang. Choom is a verb, meaning "to smoke marijuana."
#2 As a member of the Choom Gang, Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends. The first was called "TA," short for "total absorption." To place this in the physical and political context of another young man who would grow up to be president, TA was the antithesis of Bill Clinton's claim that as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford he smoked dope but never inhaled.
#3 Along with TA, Barry popularized the concept of "roof hits": when they were chooming in the car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.
#4 When you were with Barry and his pals, if you exhaled precious pakalolo (Hawaiian slang for marijuana, meaning "numbing tobacco") instead of absorbing it fully into your lungs, you were assessed a penalty and your turn was skipped the next time the joint came around. "Wasting good bud smoke was not tolerated," explained one member of the Choom Gang, Tom Topolinski, the Chinese-looking kid with a Polish name who answered to Topo.
#5 [Choom Gang member] Mark Bendix's Volkswagen bus, also known as the Choomwagon. … The other members considered Mark Bendix the glue, he was funny, creative, and uninhibited, with a penchant for Marvel Comics. He also had that VW bus and a house with a pool, a bong, and a Nerf basketball, all enticements for them to slip off midday for a few unauthorized hours of recreation...

President Barack Obama has signed into law the 5.7 billion dollar national service bill. This bill dramatically expands national service, but it also places extreme restrictions on those who want to serve.
"National service" sounds great until you realize exactly what is in this bill. The House version of this bill includes a provision that bans all national service participants from being involved in any form of evangelism.
The final version of this bill prohibits national service participants from engaging in the following:
Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.
So the U.S. government plans to create a massive horde of young people who are serving the United States but who will be banned from serving the Lord Jesus Christ and from sharing the gospel with their friends.
Talk about the secularization of American society - a bill which seeks to get countless thousands of young Americans involved in "national service" and which will prohibit them from serving God.
What kind of insanity is this?
The truth is that the economy is a mess, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and in several other covert locations have stretched the U.S. military beyond the breaking point, and many American cities need to be rebuilt. So now the Obama administration plans to use the cheap, conscripted labor of young people to get things fixed.
It's called involuntary servitude.
But this is what some in the Obama administration have been eyeing for quite some time.
Barack Obama's new chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is the coauthor of a book that calls for, among other things, compulsory national service for all Americans between the ages of 18 to 25.
The following quotes are from pages 61-62 of the book Emanuel coauthored in 2006 entitled "The Plan: Big Ideas for America":
It's time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, All Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service. ...
Here's how it would work. Young people will know that between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service. They'll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community, where they will learn what to do in the event of biochemical, nuclear or conventional attack; how to assist others in an evacuation; how to respond when a levee breaks or we're hit by a natural disaster. These young people will be available to address their communities' most pressing needs.
Now keep in mind that the person who wrote that is going to be the new White House chief of staff.
Wow.
The frightening thing is that it looks like some of Emanuel's ideas are already being implemented by the new administration.
The official website of President-Elect Obama, Change.gov, originally announced that Obama would soon "require" that all students in middle school all the way through college would be forced to participate in community service programs.
Fortunately, the Internet exploded with outrage, and the website's wording was quickly softened.
But before the change, this is what Obama's website said about this program: "Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year."
I think that we have had enough of "Patriot acts" and I know that most young Americans do not want to be part of any kind of a draft.

The U.S. government is taking more control over our lives than ever before, and still most Americans seem like they could care less.
How far has America gone down the tubes when the government is passing laws that ban young volunteers from sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Another one of the items that Barack Obama constantly carries in his pockets for good luck has been identified. The newly identified item is called "the Miraculous Medal" and it is also known as the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, and it is worn by many Catholics around the world in honor of the Virgin Mary.
A picture of both sides of this medal is at the bottom of this article.
Catholics who were this medal believe that it will bring them special "graces" through the intercession of Mary if it is worn with devotion.
The picture at the top of this article is from the latest issue of the French magazine Paris Match, although it was originally published in Time magazine.
This photograph shows President Obama revealing the "good luck charms" that he always carries in his pockets.
"The Miraculous Medal" also is closely associated with "Our Lady of Medjugorje".
According to one blog, on November 27th, 1989, the visionary Marija received the following message from "Our Lady of Medjugorje":
Today is the feast day of the miraculous medal, and I want that you pray, in a special way, for the salvation of those people who are carrying this miraculous medal.
This new revelation comes months after another one of Barack Obama's lucky charms had been positively identified as the Hindu god "Hanuman".
So was Barack Obama sworn in as the next president of the United States with his hand on a Bible and a Hindu god in his pocket?
Besides the Miraculous Medal and the Hanuman idol, some of Barack Obama's other lucky charms have been identified as a bracelet that belonged to a soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler’s lucky chit and a tiny Madonna and child.
The little statue with the multiple arms in the picture at the top of the article is the little idol of Hanuman that has caused such an uproar.
Time magazine did not originally identify the specific Hindu god that the idol represents when they broke this story last summer, but a number of Hindu websites have been quick to point out that the Hindu god depicted is actually known as "Hanuman".
Obama's father was a Kenyan and his mother was from Kansas, but Obama did spend a portion of his early life in Indonesia where Hinduism is a very popular religion. Some are speculating that is when he may have acquired this particular idol, but nobody really knows.
Hanuman is one of the more important of the Hindu gods. There are many temples devoted to the worship of Hanuman, especially in India.
According to Hinduism, Hanuman represents pure devotion, complete surrender and the absence of ego or the lower self. They believe that once one completely surrenders to the inner self and the mind becomes devoted completely, the mind can obtain miraculous powers and perform amazing feats like that of Hanuman. Hindus also believe that all the planets in the solar system are under the control of Hanuman's large tail. In addition, it is thought by Hindus that whoever worships Hanuman is granted tremendous fortitude and strength.
But wait, isn't Barack Obama supposed to be a Christian?
Apparently Obama must not be familiar with the 2nd of the Ten Commandments:
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image"

What in the world is a "Christian" politician doing running around using a Hindu god for "good luck"?
Now a lot of people may be thinking "what's the big deal", but if the God of the Bible exists (and He most certainly does), then for the leader of the United States to be carrying around a Hindu god is not a good idea at all. Americans will not be blessed if they turn their backs on God. Already the United States is literally falling apart before our eyes, and if we all continue to reject God then things will not change for the better no matter who gets elected.
Getting back to the Miraculous Medal, posted below is a picture of one where you can see both sides.....
Five minutes before Barack Obama became president of the United States, the official website of the White House, whitehouse.gov, still reflected the (watered down) pro-life and pro-family positions that George W. Bush at least pretended to favor.
However, within 5 minutes of Barack Obama taking the oath of office, the White House website became rabidly pro-abortion and anti-family.
The following are quotes from some of the new material found on the White House website.....
On abortion:
"President Obama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Administration. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case."
On "hate crime" laws:
"Expand Hate Crimes Statutes: In 2004, crimes against LGBT Americans constituted the third-highest category of hate crime reported and made up more than 15 percent of such crimes. President Obama cosponsored legislation that would expand federal jurisdiction to include violent hate crimes perpetrated because of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical disability. As a state senator, President Obama passed tough legislation that made hate crimes and conspiracy to commit them against the law."
On civil unions and marriage:
"Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples: President Obama supports full civil unions that give same-sex couples legal rights and privileges equal to those of married couples. Obama also believes we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact legislation that would ensure that the 1,100+ federal legal rights and benefits currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex couples in civil unions and other legally-recognized unions. These rights and benefits include the right to assist a loved one in times of emergency, the right to equal health insurance and other employment benefits, and property rights."
On adoption:
"Expand Adoption Rights: President Obama believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the parents are gay or not."
During the campaign there was every indication that Obama would be the most socially liberal president ever, and the White House website seems to make it clear that Obama intends to carry out his promises in many of these areas.
The founder of Focus on the Family, James Dobson, admits that he is currently in a grieving process over the results of the presidential election. "I want to admit that I am in the midst of a grieving process at this time," Dobson confessed on the Focus on the Family radio broadcast on Thursday. "I’m not grieving over Barack Obama’s victory, but over the loss of things that I’ve fought for, for 35 years."
Dobson went on to further elaborate why he is so upset:
"[H]e’s going to appoint the most liberal justices to the Supreme Court, perhaps that we’ve ever had," Dobson said. "So, there are many reasons why I’m struggling today over the likely path that the nation has taken."
James Dobson is certainly not alone. Many evangelical Christians feel devastated by the election of Barack Obama. Many feel as though the America that they once knew is gone forever.
But what should we expect? The truth is that we are in the end times. Those who know the truth knew that things were going to head this direction. Times and going to get tough and persecution of Christians is going to dramatically increase.
America has rejected life, morality, truth and God. That is the truth and we all need to face it. A political battle has been lost, but the war to win souls for Jesus Christ is as important as it ever has been.
Whether you are in a red state or a blue state, or whether you supported Barack Obama or you didn't, the truth is that Barack Obama is going to be the president of all Americans. One thing that I hope that we all can agree on is that we should pray for our president, because he is the leader of this nation and it is an incredibly difficult job.
So, with that being said, this is our prayer for President Obama:
We pray that God would give President Obama great knowledge and wisdom in leading the United States of America.
We pray that President Obama would be able to bring the country together and would make decisions that would be good for the whole country.
We pray that President Obama would be able to end these wars quickly and would be able to bring our soldiers home safely.
We pray that President Obama will be able to find a way to keep people in their homes and to help people without homes to have a warm place to sleep each night.
We pray that President Obama will stop America from destroying the environment of the world.
We pray that President Obama will help the United States end poverty around the world. The reality of poverty is something no compassionate nation can ignore.....
1 billion people in the world go to bed hungry every night.
Every 3.6 seconds someone starves to death and 3/4 are children under the age of 5.
More than 2.8 billion people, close to half the world's population, live on less than the equivalent of $2 a day.
More than 1.2 billion people, or about 20 per cent of the world population, live on less than the equivalent of $1 a day.

We pray that President Obama will encourage Americans not to give up on their marriages.

We pray that President Obama will help end the epidemic of child abuse in America.
No moral nation should allow child abuse to occur at these levels.....
-It is estimated that there are over 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today.
-Approximately 95% of all teenage prostitutes have been sexually abused.
-Of all American prisoners convicted of rape or sexual assault, two-thirds victimized children.
-Reported cases of child sexual abuse increased 322 percent from 1980 to 1990.
We pray that President Obama will be able to reduce the national debt.
Once upon a time, the United States was the biggest creditor in the world. But those days are long gone. Now America is the biggest debtor nation to ever exist on the earth.
America was once the richest nation in the world, but that was not nearly enough for them. Americans always had to have a bigger car, a bigger house and an endless supply of "stuff". So the government piled up debt, America's companies gorged on debt, and Americans made using credit cards into a national pastime.
Spending our own money wasn't even enough. We spent the money of our children, and of our grandchildren, and of their children, and now the national debt is approaching 10 TRILLION dollars.....an amount that we will never be able to repay. And if you include the future liabilities that our government has committed us to such as future Social Security and Medicare payments, then the total is over 59 TRILLION dollars.
Now that many of our jobs have gone overseas, the price of gasoline is shooting through the roof, and people are losing their homes, do we find that Americans are learning their lesson?
No.
Instead we are squeezing everything we can out of our plastic. Total credit card debt in America has reached almost a trillion dollars, and it is increasing at a rate which is four times faster than earlier this decade.
Instead of showing restraint, we have jammed the accelerator to the floor.
Prices are increasing dramatically while wages are remaining flat or even decreasing. Jobs are being outsourced and factories are being closed at a staggering pace. Our largest banks and financial institutions are teetering on the brink of failure. Homes are being foreclosed at record rates. Personal bankruptcies recently hit an all-time high. And so what is the answer the politicians give us? Wasting even more money and getting us into even more debt.
We pray that President Obama will end the use of depleted uranium weapons by the U.S. military.
Under George W. Bush, America has been using thousands of tons of depleted uranium munitions - dirty bombs made from our nuclear waste - in our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The resulting devastation from using these dirty nuclear weapons is a crime against humanity of the utmost magnitude:
We pray that President Obama will stop America from brutally torturing the prisoners it takes.
The torture techniques that America uses include hooding, stripping detainees naked, subjecting them to extreme heat, cold, noise and light, and depriving them of sleep. This torture by American authorities often expands into more vicious forms such as vicious beatings, sexual degradation, sodomy, near drowning, and near asphyxiation:
We pray that President Obama will do something about America's addiction to pornography.
We pray that President Obama will realize that....

We pray that President Obama will work to end abortion in the United States.
Since 1973, well over 40 MILLION innocent babies have been chopped up and slaughtered in American abortion mills. For the good of the nation this must end.
We pray that President Obama will work with those who just helped pass Proposition 8 in California and will help to defend marriage across the United States.

3) According to official (but unpublicized) U.S. government data, there have been over 70,000 deaths and over 1 million disabilities among American soldiers as a result of America's wars in the Middle East. When is America going to start telling the truth about these things?

Crystal Cathedral founder Robert Schuller has removed his son as the preacher on his weekly "Hour of Power" television broadcast. It is not known at this time what caused the rift between them.
The following video does a great job of showing what Barack Obama really believes about abortion. However, the video also tries to show John McCain as a pro-life champion, which he is most certainly not. Nonetheless, it is a video that is well done and worth watching:

Australia's Lesbian Fertility Bill
A "lesbian feritlity bill" has been passed through parliament in Australia. It seems this kind of thing is becoming commonplace in the Western world.
Another troubled drug has been pulled. An obesity drug linked to suicides has been taken off the market. In fact, quite a few psychotropic drugs have been linked to suicide and depression. It is best to avoid all drugs if you can.
It is quite clear now that Barack Obama has an insurmountable lead in the presidential race. America has fallen in love with Barack Obama. The latest Gallup poll has Barack Obama with a 50%to 43% lead over John McCain, and other polls have Obama with a lead in the double digits.
Things are even more lopsided if you look at the electoral map. Electoral-vote.com has Obama leading McCain 352 electoral votes to 171. It seems clear that there won't be any suspense on election night regarding who will become president.
But it isn't just the numbers. Obama has received a level of worship and adoration that few political leaders have ever seen.
It all started during the primaries when women started fainting during Obama's rallies:

But it is another thing altogether when people start calling Obama, in all seriousness, "the Messiah", "Jesus" and when they start claiming UFOs are going to show up on Halloween as a sign that we must vote for Obama.
World Net Daily is reporting that an associate editor of the campus newspaper at Massachusetts' Smith College is calling Obama her "Jesus", and they are reporting that she made this troubling statement:
"I've officially been saved, and soon, whether they like it or not, the rest of the country will be too. I will follow him, all the way to the White House, and I'll be standing there in our nation's capital in January 2009, when Barack Obama is inaugurated as the 44th president of the United States of America. In the name of Obama, Amen."
You could argue that she is just one deranged college student. Well, the video below shows Louis Farrakhan, who has thousands of followers across the United States, calling Barack Obama "the Messiah":
And believe it or not, there are even more bizarre followers of Obama.
An African-American "master UFO Caller" says that on October 31, 2008, superhuman black men from other planets will appear in their spaceships and will hover over his "UFO summoning school" for 3 days as a sign that all Americans should vote for Barack Obama as President.
He says that October 31, 2008, at exactly 12 noon, is the date and time the spaceships are most likely to appear over Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is how the "prophet" describes his work: "My UFO Summoning School is located by one of Las Vegas' housing projects in the middle of the ghetto. There I teach people the ancient art of summoning or calling down UFOs and spaceships on-command."
And believe it or not, this guy actually has people who listen to him.

Even John McCain is getting into the act. In the clip below, while McCain is "roasting" Obama, he basically concedes that he has lost the election, and he talks glowingly about how much he respects and admires Obama:

According to Federal Election Commission records, Paula White has given Barack Obama's campaign $2,300, and her husband, Randy White, has given $2,000 to Obama's campaign.
Randy White, the pastor of the controversial Without Walls megachurch in Tampa, is on the record in the Tampa Tribune saying that he supports Obama and that he believes that his famous ex-wife does as well.
Does everyone realize how many millions of Christians listen to Paula White?
She is one of THE most prominent leaders in the Christian church today.
Her ministry takes in millions of dollars, she is a best selling author and she has even been on Larry King Live.
And now she is fully supporting and giving money to a politician who supports open baby killing.

And the worst part is that apparently to Barack Obama that is a GOOD thing.
You know what the really sad thing is?
On one level Barack Obama is actually correct.
America IS no longer a Christian nation.
America has turned away from God.
America does not obey His laws.
America does not follow His ways.
In America, people do whatever they want. Americans kill their babies through abortion, Americans have sex with whomever they want whenever they want, Americans lie, Americans cheat, Americans steal and Americans indulge in as much sin as they can.
America has rejected God, and hardly anyone even cares anymore.
#1) Barack Obama has been a rabid advocate of abortion throughout his political career. Apparently he believes that the vicious murder of 40 million babies since Roe v. Wade is a wonderful thing.
At one campaign event he actually said that if one of his daughters made a "mistake" that he did not want them "punished with a baby".
Not only that, but Obama actually fought AGAINST a law that would have provided medical care for babies who survived abortion and were born alive. Apparently Obama wants to throw them in the trash can and wait for them to die.
#2) Obama also exhibits his extreme duplicity on the issue of gay marriage. He claims to be against it, but Obama says that he is FOR "civil unions" which grant all the same rights and privileges as an actual marriage. Well, if you get all the same benefits from a "civil union", then how is that any different at all from a real marriage? The truth is that it isn't, and the truth is that Obama is a tireless promoter of the homosexual agenda.
#3) In 1999, Obama voted against a bill barring early release for criminal sex offenders.
#4) Obama voted against filtering pornography on school and library computers.
#5) Obama voted for sex education for children in KINDERGARTEN through the 5th grade.
#6) Jeremiah Wright, who was Obama's pastor and mentor for nearly 20 years, and who married Obama and his wife, and who gave Obama the name for his book, is an anti-American lunatic who hates the United States:
